The Rhode Island twenty (20) day notice to cure or vacate, in accordance with § 34-18-36, is given to the tenant by the landlord when a material violation has risen. The tenant will have the time period to either fix the issue or leave the property along with their possessions. If the same violation has happened in the last six (6) months, the landlord at their sole discretion, may opt to have the notice be incurable.
How to Write
Step 1 – Put the date in the top input field (dd/mm/yyyy). In the “To” field, enter the name(s) of the tenant(s).
Step 2 – Enter a description of the lease violation(s), select whether the violation is curable or not, and then write the address of the rental property (street, unit/apartment number, city, county, state, ZIP).
Step 3 – Fill in the date that the tenant must vacate the unit by.
Step 4 – Sign/print your name in the “Signature” and “Name” fields.
Note: The input fields at the bottom should be filled out if the notice was served via certified mail (fill in the date of service).
